I saw some bad reviews here on this host but I liked their options. I decided to ask them about their previous issued noted here. I went the websupport chat route. I was quickly routed to a customer representative (bryan) that informed me that as of December 08, they were under new management and had just completed migration to new servers with 20,000 mbits of network connectivity. I was convinced to sign up and so far have been impressed with their quick customer service. I'm hoping that their hosting will be as equally impressive as their customer service.
Bought 3 years with some coupons and got a great deal. Worked out great at first but after a while my shared hosting server receives unresponsive times ranging from a minute to almost an hour daily.
Tech support is hit or miss...sometimes you can get someone who knows what they are doing and will fix issues instantly...others are completely clueless and takes 5-10 minutes to give you a one word response.
Overall if you are looking for reliable shared hosting (I know reliable and shared don't often go together...I tried...) but this is not one. If you have a site for a friend or a local gaming group and reliability doesn't matter then sure, go for it. But if you are looking to have a website that will receive some decent traffic, spring for a VPS somewhere else (micfo has them but they are rather expensive compared to others).
So far I have had only good things to say about this host, the problems I have had (due to my inexperience) have been sorted quickly and with good humer.

I suffered with this host for nearly 3 years. Finally got fed up and moved away.
The server keeps going down and I have to constantly contact them to put it back online. The weird thing is that their site (micfo.com) is always available but my site keeps going down. Maybe that's why they have good up-time listed.
They also have this habit of not telling you when your account is about to expire, so that they can overcharge you when you miss the date (I think it is 19$ for missing the date). All other domain services I have used until today sent me notices starting from 60 days before.
I experienced several outages, and worst of all they changed my dedicated IP address without telling me (bringing my website down), and didn't seem to think that this was a problem. I would not recommend Micfo.
I dont have anything to complain about micfo.com because i am very pleased with them!The have excellent support!Before 2 days i had a problem and they helped me!In 10 minutes they have solved the problem!Jason helped me!He knows everything!He answered all the questions that I have asked!
I think micfo is on its way up. I've been with them for many years - through the good and bad. They've recently moved to fastservers.net hosting location with new servers & added UK servers. Though support is not as quick as its 15min guarantee years ago, staff seems better than their "rough" period.
The transition is happening and I'm glad it's happening now than never.
I'm glad my server has had no downtime in the last 90 days. Server load monitored through uptime of approx 2.0-3.5 consistently on a quad cpu server throughout that period as well.

Servers were good for the first month. After that they were always down including mails not working and slow responces. Technical support???? It doesnt exists!!
The worst hosting I've ever known. They lost my site 3 times, lost data, screwed up email. They cost me hours and hours of my time recreating stuff they'd lost. One of these times they offered me $10 as an apology!! What an insult...
After a couple of years of relatively reliable hosting from Micfo, things went severely downhill. On several occasions, money was taken out of my account that shouldn't have been (e.g. two lots of charges for one months hosting), and domain name and nameserver problems at their end meant my sites were often down. After cancelling my account, they still took money from my bank account, and their previously reliable support suddenly became very slow and unhelpful. They also have several "guarantees" in their terms and conditions which mean nothing, and if they break them you are lucky to get a "sorry" and have no chance of getting any money refunded!
We used micfo.com for two years. The first year wasn't too bad, but micfo seemed to deterioate rapidly after that. The second year was horrible - lots of hassles. We had a lot of email problems and their support wouldn't fix it - they just kept passing the buck. It got so bad that it was adversely impacting our business. We were forced to leave micfo, and they never even refunded the money we paid in advance. Perhaps there's somebody who would be happy with micfo as they might be lucky enough to never have a problem, but I doubt it.
We used this site to choose a new host and wound up selecting liquidweb.com. We've been with them for about six months and they have been great.
This site has done us a great service in helping to eliminate the problems we were having. Thanks so much!!
Avoid Micfo.com and Bodhost.com (their other shell scam operation). I signed up two days ago but when something just didn't see right about the company immediately cancelled the request (within minutes). Even though they responded back to my phone call and email that they understood that they were not to set up an account OR bill me they did so anyway. Now they claim they can only give me back $45.00 of my $53.00 and even that I have yet to see back. I have filed BBB complaints in two states, filed a fraud alert with my credit card company as well as IC3 complaints and now a police fraud report in two states. AVOID THESE SCAMMERS AS IF THEY HAD THE PLAGUE!
The server was slow and often got frozen(cannot access). Well, it's a shared server we can't expect a lot. But we have tried many shared server. Micfo's one was the worst ever.
The worst thing they have done is just amazing. They moved our customers' accounts to another server WITHOUT any notice. While moving them(7-8 hours!!!), those accounts were unavailable. Imagine you have 100 customers for your hosting business, and those accounts are unavailable for 7-8 hours without any notice. It was just crazy.
Listening to their excuse, first they told us that they e-mailed us before they moved our customers' accounts, then I asked them when they sent, then no reply. It's for sure they did not send any e-mail.
Also Micfo's customer service is the lowest quority. When you ask them to fix a problem, well, they may fix the problem, but makes other problems. Then you ask them to fix the problems they made, then, as you can imagine, they make more problems.
I have been a customer of Micfo for about 2 years now, and now i think it's time to move on.
The hosting was pretty good at one time, about 1 year ago, but after that, everything has gone down hill, most likely because they fill their servers to the absolute limit.
My website is down every single day, and when it's up, it's so slow that the users get broken pages.
Let's look at what Micfo guarantees, and see my answer to the guarantee:
"Micfo offers a 99.9% Uptime Guarantee" Bullshit. They say on their website that if your server is down more than what they guarantee, you will get a refund.
Only one catch! There is no way for you to see how much downtime your server has had, because they won't let you see it.
I wrote a support ticked today, (Which was answered after 3 hours) asking if they could tell me how much downtime my server has had. The only answer i got was that they were monitoring my site, so i should not worry.
I replied to that and said that this wasn't what i was asking, and again asked for my downtime. This was the response from the support department (Again after 3 hours):
"There is no third party url to check uptime of server. It is not possible for you to check servers uptime."
That is a pretty good deal for micfo, because then they can guarantee what ever uptime they want. By the way, they do not accept data from external downtime monitors, and you have to request your refund yourself.
Their 99.9% uptime guarantee is a fraud, because you will not get that refund unless you provide evidense of the downtime (Which they won't grant you access to) A bullshit guarantee.
"15-25 Minutes Technical Support Response Time Guarantee" Again, complete and utter bullshit.
I have sent in about 70 tickets, and not one of them has been answered within the guaranteed time limit.
A few months back i had to wait 3 days for a very simple ticket to get resolved. I have also tried waiting 36 hours for an answer to a ticket. (The answer did not help by the way)
I would say, from my experience, that the average support response is about 3-4 hours, and i haven't counted in the times where i've waited for more than 12 hours.
Stay away from Micfo. You will not get the product you pay for.

I have already alerted my bank that you are a fraudulent company, and I have just printed out the 35 support tickets I was forced to submit in the last 40 days due to your complete incompetence (most of which they never resolved).
Since you sell products and services across state lines, I am giving the information over to the FBI so they can investigate you as well.
This is one final request for you to refund every penny you have illegally taken from me ($xxx to date), according to your own service guarantee, which I have also printed out.
I will be adding on the money you have cost me by losing two clients as well, unless you include that in your refund to me.

These people are the worst hosting company I've ever had the displeasure of working with. They will lie to your face about their server load, problems on their systems, everything.
After being recommended to MIcfo, I realise what a big mistake it was in mving to them.
Support is abysmal - they give stock relpies such as "its fixed now" but it is obvious that the support guys don't read the messages properly, causing long delays in getting things fixed.
My biggest problem has been emails going missing; check their forum and see how many others have complained about this. Eac time it gets 'fixed' it regularly reoccurs within a few weeks.
Stay away if you want trouble free hosting.
Up until recently I was a reasonably satisfied Micfo customer. The pricing was reasonable and there were sometimes minor technical issues, but the support was good. Prompt replies and issues corrected in good time.
But what a difference a few weeks makes. I have major issues now and the support is all but non existant. Support tickets go unanswered of if answered are mostly canned or don't deal with the actual issues.
I was with Micfo for over a year and was dumbfounded by the level of idiocy and faulty service they provided. My site was down a few times PER WEEK, my customers began to leave out of frustration, and when Micfo attempted to move my site to another server to "fix the problem," they accidentally deleted my e-mail account, so that all customer messages and my e-mail setup were gone. I needed to hire a programmer to fix that mess... the list goes on and on. The only thing that kept me there as long as I was were empty promises that never came to fruition. This company solely comprises incompetent morons who are just out to pocket your money. ANY OTHER HOSTING COMPANY would be better.
Absoultey terrible tech support. When I first joined a couple of years ago they were OK, but in the last year I have had entire websites lost, email going missing etc.
The last straw has been two websites lost and being told by the Tech 'Support' that they don't have backups for them, even though on their guarantees page they claim they take daily and weekly backups. They couldn't even say 'Sorry'.
I am now looking for a new host and can't wait to tell them to stuff it!
