I was originally with itechsolve which became livin4. Originally, I was very pleased with one of their mini-packages, but in the last six months they have not been reliable or kind. I was without service for over 48 hrs in October, 2006. [That followed a server hack in August.] At the start of the new year (2007), my site was still not totally happy. I think it may be stable at the moment, but that downtime was extreme.
Their technical support appeared to at least attempt to be helpful. HOWEVER, the customer service got to the point of not caring about their customers, well, at least not this customer. The last comment I got from Nick from their customer service was "If you would like a straight answer, then here it is. We would like you to leave our hosting company and find another one. We are not going to continue with this anymore. You have yourself a great day."
I was looking for answers. In a previous email, they had actually started to rebuild some of the trust, but when I wanted further clarification, it took 2.5 weeks after four emails (Jan 20, Jan 26, Feb 2 [which had a quick response that Nick would need to reply, expected back on the 5th], so followed up one more time on Feb 7. Finally, had a response, again, not complete answers which led to the above response. So, with that, you might want to go somewhere other than livin4 for webhosting. |

Offer too much, and cant deliver, while my hosting with this host ended 3 months ago, and I told them I did not want to renew (also said no-auto renew when i signed up) they continually try to bill my now expired credit card, therefore everytime they try to process it I get an error email, up to 10 a day.
100 odd emails, chat sessions, and tickets later, this issue has still not been resolved, despite been told it has. "Billing Support" told me today via chat that he was a tech, and was cagey when I asked who he actually worked for... also had a 13 year old image going on.
While I was hosted with them multiple prolonged downtime, which when I queried was told it "was never down" or got no response.
Find a few extra dollars, and find a host that actually has a customer service department that works. |

I have a reseller acount with livin4.com and have been very happy with their company.
I have had a few problems with their uptime in the past, which seem to have been resolved in recent months. Doing some fiddling with my nameserver entries also seemed to help this.
Their technical support has been very good. In the two times I have submitted a help ticket, they were replied to and the problems solved within 24 hours.
The only real problem was when they were doing some upgrades on their servers some of my sites did not migrate correctly. Tech support was very helpful on fixing this when I alled it o their attention.
For the price, I am very happy with them. |

I used Livin4 for about a year. Uptime was great for the first 6 months. Then the downtime started and unexplained email bounces. Technical support was non-existent. I eventually took my site elsewhere. |

This place is TERRIBLE! I lost EVERY client due to their down time. Customer service is a JOKE! The last email from them they told me I was acting like a 13 year old and that they dont want my business. How would you feel if you lost EVERY account?????? RUN DONT WALK AWAY FROM THEM!!! |

Same as everyone else I guess; the promises on the site are too good to be true for the small cost. Have had my accounts suspended for no reason, mail bounces with no explanation, have asked for assistance and the support staff give a canned answer that does not address the question, and asked for a refund which has been ignored. If you want cheap unix hosting and DONT plan to run any cgi or SQL apps, only static HTML then they are marginally OK for non-critical websites, but if you need reliable email, server functionality and decent customer service, look elsewhere. You get what you pay for. |

Stay away from them.
I decided to cancel my plan after several disruptions and no tech support.
then, after i sent my cancellation request, they interrupted (canceled)my plan IMMEDITELY. Can you believe that? I mean I paid in advance and they don't even give me time to move my stuff. And of course no refund whatsoever. The support just sent me an email saying that they don't basically care since I am not a customer anymore.
It's few bucks but is ground for suing, no doubt about it.

I am a new subscriptor in livin4. I bought a reseller hosting service but did not receive the email they say I would receive in 20 minutes after completed the order. I sent many messages thru email and fax, without any answer. I want my money back. They say that they give a 30 day money back guarantee and should write to sales@livin4.com for a refund. Well, sales does not answer either.
I recommend to look for other web hosting company if you do not to want to have the risk to loose your money. |

I don't know what's going on at livin4.com but these people can't be trusted anymore. I have 4 domains with them and a reseller account, on February 2004 I tried registering a new domain, they charged my credit card but never did the registration and did not respond to my emails. I registered it somewhere else 1 week later.
I've sent them numerous emails to cancel my accounts with them and they've all been unanswered. I tried calling them 3 times and I always end up on the personal voice mail box of someone named Sam asking to leave a message.
Chances are that you are gonna loose your money if you sign-up for anything with livin4.com |

A company with no support at all doesn't care about the customers. Sign up and try to ask for a refund using the 30-day-money-back-guarantee when you see that things are not working, they will not answer on that question or anything else. From that moment you are flying solo.
Obviously I took my sites to anothere place.
I would NOT recommend this company, spend a few more $$$ and get reliability instead. |

Don't buy a domain from these people. They robbed me. I bought from them a domain and a hosting package on November 27, 2004. They charged my credit card and never gave me the service. The domain was never registered. At first I tried to contact them to tell them about the problem, they never replied. Then my domain was bought by another person, and I couldn't do anything, so I asked for a refund. They never answered me. At last, I asked them to give me another domain to replace the one that was already charged, and guess what, no answer has been given so far. I know they have read my messages since they've closed my topics, and no one else can. They are just playing deaf. Of course they don't worry since they already have the money. I was going to proceed with legal action against them but the process will take too long, and since I don't reside at the US I'll have to be traveling constantly there, and its not worth it.
My best recommendation to you is to find another host. These are a bunch of thieves, and let me tell you another thing. I chose these people because I already owned another domain with them. It is soon to expire, and these people have the guts to send me an invoice to renew my other domain with them. DO NOT BUY A DOMAIN FROM THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOOSE YOUR MONEY. SIMPLY DON'T.
If you want to check it, this is what was supposed to be the domain I had to own: http://www.anim8or.org but as you can see, somebody else bought after I bought it. I've got the invoice and my credit card bill as a proof.

Their customer support could use some work, as some of their reps seem to be poorly educated about the services they provide. For example, I asked them about using SSH to send files to my account. They replied that I can use any ftp client. I replied saying that I was not asking about direect ftp, and I explained what SSH does. They replied that they don't support SSH for security reasons. Also, I am having a problem with their spam blocking. Because I depend on messages coming to me, I turned off spamassasin. However, messages are still being bounced back, with a 550 error, which, according to what I could find on the internet, means that spam blocking is in place. I have seen this with Yahoo!Groups that I subscribed to. When I complained about this, they simply sent a test message to a test email account under my account, and said they didn't see a problem. It appeared that they didn't even bother to look in their logs.
My conclusion is that if you are on a strict budget and don't need alot of attention, and if you can afford for occasional messages to be bounced without notification to you, then this is a good hosting company for you. |

If you want to use Perl, this host sucks. They charge $60 for EVERY MODULE you wish to install -- $30 for security testing and $30 for installation. It doesn't make sense! Free modules from CPAN are now effectively $60 each! No way! The modules they provide are very basic; they don't even have File::Copy. I have to pay $60 for that!
Otherwise, I think they're a fine host. Their service is quick, their basic plan is awesome were it all you had to pay. They're usually reliable and install numerous basic conveniences with your account; everything I'd like, and I'd stick with them indefinitely (as long as I only wanted shared hosting; expensive dedicated servers) if it weren't for their strange Perl module policy. |

Livin4, formerly ItechSolve.com, is a great option for cheap sites that don't demand 99.9% uptime. I'm not saying that my uptime has not been fantastic, it's just that when you only pay $10/year for web hosting you can't expect too much. Personally, I think its a great value for small sites, and my uptime has been better than many more expensive hosts that I have used. Customer support has been satisfactory for the couple of issues that I have had. Overall, I give them a 4 out of 5. |
