I've been with HostingUK for 7 years, so obviously this will be a positive review. However, I work with various hosts all over the world, so I'm fully aware that they're not all the same.
It's the service that marks these guys out. Any problem, email them and you'll get a quick response (you don't need to log in and make a 'ticket' as with many hosts), or give them a phone call, good British guys! If you're in business, you know how important your supply and client relationships, and I'm pleased to say they're a trusted part of my web business.
I'm a Hostinguk user and have been for a few years, I was shocked to read these REPEATED reviews and felt compelled to reply as I have always had good service, sounds like this guy has either got a case of sour grapes or he works for another hosting company. Very sad. I know I can call Hostinguk or email most hours of the day 7 days a week and get a knowledgable and friendly resolution. I'm a developer and contact with my hosting company is a must for various reasons so it's nice not to be fobbed off by a pre recorded voice! I once submitted a permissions change request around 2am and had a reply telling me it had been done within 10 minutes, you can't get better than that! Regards Mike J. This web hosting company, which at least may seem to be quite cheap, in fact is a complete waste of money when it comes to providing support and customer assistance. I had to duplicate a site I was having problems with to prove them there was a problem with their server and despite the fact that the site duplicate was working perfectly well on another server they still refused to acknowledge the problem at their end! This lack of support is coupled with an overall arrogant attitude and general slack attitude in terms of providing a timely response to questions. On another occasion I was refused the back up of my site, on pretense that they don't do back ups, when it was clearly stated on the terms and conditions of the package that they do provide this service. You really don't want to waste your time with them!
I've been using Hosting UK for a couple of years now and have over 10 domains hosted with them. I used to have hosting space which I found to be always up and running no problems what so ever. It's worth paying the extra money for peace of mind. I found a cheaper hosting company 4uhosting which I had to move away due to the poor up-time and support. What a waste of time! and money. Stay with HostingUK. I sent off a fax today and recieved a email with 5 minutes on a Sunday. Thats what I call support and service. This is how a company should be run!!
