Well after 3 years of service, it's time to cancel the service. Luckily stability has been good so far; everything has been running roughly but reliably... There was a switch made recently; killing off all my hot-linked images. And just today I was charged extra fees for "email hosting" and "domain pointing"... |

Fuitdadnet used to be a great, cheap hosting company until it was sold in 2005. It has gone completely downhill since then. At least once a month I have to contact their tech support and have them restart my server because it has crashed. This in itself is a challenge because their 24/7 tech support they offer is a lie. All support will tell you to do is submit a ticket, then the ticket sits in their queue until someone gets around to fixing your problem. - this could be days. My reseller account was down for an entire weekend because Fuitadnet doesn't know what they're doing. Please save yourself the pain and use someone else. |

I was with this "company" for 3 years. It was fine in the beginning, but in the last couple years it's gone straight to hell after being taken over by new management. As others have said, tech support is nonexistent. If you actually get to speak with somebody on their site's "live chat", you will almost always be told to submit a support ticket. Problem is, support tickets are never answered. EVER. Otherwise the tech will just tell you that "it's working on my end", or if things are REALLY bad (like your site being down for hours on end), you'll get "sorry for the inconvenience".
A lot of problems began in fall/winter of 2006, when their plan to "migrate" all of their customers to a new datacenter (which was only suppost to take a week) turned into a disaster spanning several months. I foolishly decided to purchase a VPS from them around this time, since my site was growing too large for their largest shared plan. It took nearly a week for the upgrade to happen, during which there was frequent down time, DNS issues, and email problems. In the month or so since then, there's been a new problem literally every few DAYS with my site, each of which brings it down for no less than 3 hours. During that time, the tech support will continuously apologize and promise it will be up in "15-20" minutes, then come up with a new excuse when that doesn't happen (this can carry on for HOURS - I literally stayed up all night once trying to get them to just tell me what was going on - in all, my site was down for 12 hours staright). Their tech support is trained to use vague terms like "soon", "shortly", "few minutes" as often as possible to describe how long it will take to bring your site back up.
Customers who get a VPS with Fuitadnet apparently get the "benefit" of what the CEO considers top-of-the-line tech support, which is essentially just the MSN addresses of the 3 (count 'em, THREE) senior technicians. Of course, you're lucky if even one is online at any given time, and since they're all in India, they're usually all sleeping during midday-early afternoon in the US time zones.
Each major episode is followed by profuse apologies from the staff/CEO, along with a list of "new technologies" they will be implementing "soon", which I suppose is last-ditch attempt to get you to stay with them. I'll give them credit - no single piece of hardware/software has ever failed TWICE, since each problem has been with a different thing. But there is certainly no shortage of things that can go wrong. |

This is a nice CPanel based hosting service for hobby sites. It comes with all the standard options: email, MySQL, and bunch of automatically installed PHP scripts, PHP 4.X. They usually run a couple of version behind on their systems.
Support and reliablity isn't their strong suit. Every third Sunday they must run full backups because their DNS will start messing up and you have go through their email support to get you site serving again. During high load times you can figure you apache server will be down for an hour.
Chat and email support is a joke because English isn't their first language. Most of their staff don't know much about managing their systems and your issue has got to get escalated two tiers before you can get any real help.
IMHO billing will purposely string you along for as long as possible to get you for an extra month of hosting.
Anyone using a reseller server will be sorely tested because the any reseller of their shares that same server. Simple database queries can take up to a minutes to preform. phpMySQLAdmin will stop working if you can it to load at from cPanel.
They are trying to do to much with to little on reseller. Skip the reseller levels and go either shared hosting or VPS with these guys. |
