I still remember the day that I found Frihost. I was so desperate about a hosting site. I looked at the web, and said "Wow, this isn't much." I was so wrong. I clicked Forums and "WOW!" The community is huge, the support is awesome and the people are great! Notice how I left out the servers? The speed is unbelievable for a free host. I've never seen this EVER. I'm so greatful for what I have found. Thank you FriHost for 3 years of great hosting! |

I've been with frihost for 2 years, and I recommend it without reservation.
The moderators offer prompt and expert tech support. Additionally, the frihost community is a great resource for me to bounce ideas off of, or find answers to my many questions. Becoming a member was fast and painless. I am 100% happy with frihost's service.
Although server downtime does happen occasionally, it's always restored quickly and efficiently, and for the price, it just doesn't get better.

Free host, no ads, forum posting is required. From 6 free hosts, that I tried, this one provides maximum possibilities with the least amount of restrictions.
Hosting is fast and reliable, ftp upload works like a clock, web access to files is also available, has advanced statistics for tracking visitors. Support is helpful, considerate and fast (no superior attitude and unresponsiveness as in other places). No unresolved issues so far.
No renewing hosting plan after one year, like some other hosts do, required forum posting could be done even with up to 1.5 months interval, but the good community is forming - you will have a good chance to help the others, and there are no high-tech topic limitations, as some other hosts have.
Allows uploading phpBB attachments (that is actually working, not only advertised), and mail function.
I recommend this host highly.
Only be ready to work on your website promotion by yourself to become listed by the search engines. Submit to search engines and directories, post on social networking sites and forums, and you should be fine. Forum posts show particularly effective places. |

I have been hosted for almost 3 years now, but after about a year I didn't need the hosting any more. I still kept posting in the forums and after a while even started an IRC channel with some other members.
Last year I became a moderator and even more active on the forums. To show how easy it is to get hosting; I make enough posts to have about 15 hosting packets (theoretically, because you can only get one). |

First of all, I need to point out the best thing about Frihost. It's been around for over 3 years!! and it's still kicking, currently working on opening it's 3rd server for free web hosting. Not many web hosting companies last that long, let alone free web hosts. I'll try and answer the most common questions about web hosts, applied to Frihost.
1- Is it reliable? Yes! It has had a few downtimes occasionaly (hence the 4 out of 5 score. 5 out of 5 is for 100% uptime, and you can't find that for free (and most times not even on paid hosts))
2- Is it really ad-free? YES! Your web space will have absolutely NO ADS, and nowadays you won't even get ads when navigating through Frihost forums (only registered users).
3- Is the provider fast? Yes, it is. Most of the time you can find a staff member around the forums and server problems (slow access or a problematic service) are handled very fast.
Frihost is also hosted at one of the worlds best data centers.
4 - How is the support? I would say great. With over 40 000 members and nearly 750 000 articles in the forums, there is ALWAYS someone around to give you a hand. And on more severe problems you can always contact a Staff Member directly through pm.
5 - So what's the catch then? None. All that is asked of you is to participate actively in the Frihost comunity.

I have had an account with frihost for over a year now,and although i don't use it for my main site,i keep it to play around with different scripts,the sites only requirement is forum posting,which isn't that difficult to upkeep, as you could make 10 posts and then not have to post again for 6 weeks before your points went back into the negative, if you should so wish.
Support is good from the moderators,who do their job on a voluntary basis.
Uptime is also good.
Its main asset is its large community,so if you are new to websites and seek advice,then there are plenty of people there to lend a hand. |

I am using Frihost since 2005!It's almost perfect.That's absolutely free and reliable.Frihost is featuring Direct Admin Web Hosting with 250 mb space;10 Gb Bandwith.
In my opinion for a reliable and secured server you should choose Frihost! |

I didn’t realise free ad-free hosting with such benefits was really available. Thank Google I found FriHost one day in a frenzied search for paid hosting plans.
When I saw what FriHost was claming to offer for no money I was rather sceptical but I signed up anyway and I have to say that it is not as good as was claimed – IT IS BETTER!
The hosting package allowed me to start work on my web site and tinker around with the options available. As A direct result of joining I have been able to learn the basics of PHPBB, HTML and CGI without the cost of server space I would have usually needed while my skills got off the ground. It is more than adequate for my needs at the moment and my website will be ready for publication in the next few weeks.
The forum side of FriHost is also amazing, I joined only for the webspace but I soon discovered a thriving community with a real buzz about it. I now spend a heck of a lot of time on there getting great help and advice from fellow FriHost members and from the FriHost Staff too who keep a very tidy house indeed compared to most forums out there full of junk posts and Spam. This way I can get support straight from the horse’s mouth so to speak. Generally I would give FriHost the highest praise for the generous nature of their hosting package and the added plus of the best forum in the World Wide Web.
If you haven’t tried it yet I recommend you do so ASAP, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I'll see you there! :O)

A fantastic host providing free hosting in return for rather minimal posting in a large and friendly community forum.
For free, the features are awesome with PHP, MySQL, mail and a substanscial 10GB of bandwidth. Accounts are allow very customisable with the ability to upload htaccess files and use features such as mod_rewrite and change certain php settings. |

Frihost is an excellent host which I'd recommend to anybody looking for a web host.
This has far better support then any other host I've been to (Godaddy included), due to the forum with over 25,000 members!
The price? Posting on forums. Which, in my opinion, is easy.
Reliability? I rated that a 4/5 due to the downtime of Server 2 (People aren't allowed to sign up for server 1). But, that should (or has been..) be fixed soon, so no worries there :)
If you're looking for a web host for any web site, go to Frihost and save yourself the money :) |

Frihost is one of the best free host available on the net.
It offers features more than the average paid host. 250Mb of space, 10Gb of bandwidth, PHP and Perl support, one subdomain, NO Ads, etc, etc. And that's just about a handful. They require you to remain active on their forums but that is not difficult as it is a great community with over 25,000 members and over 500,000 posts. In short, the best free webhost in the internet. |

The right host for 99% of everybody!
If you have a spare minute for every 2 days (it really doesnt take anymore to find an interesting topic and make a contribution) frihost will give you a service worthy of a professional host. Support is also amazing on the forums, and the servers have only been down once in my entire time with frihost. (around half a year) |

Greets!
A few months ago, I wanted to go with frihost badly, because it was free, and all I had to do is post on their site.
After a week or so, I finnaly got the hosting.
Hosting with them was great. Uptime, mysql, the same as a paid host.
The only thing that bothered me was, that the pages werent loading very fast :D
After a few weeks I asked for them to erase my account, because I was moving on to another ( paid ) host, and I didnt want to waste their space.
Really nice people, if your looking for personal hosting, they are very good! |

Well, you must post of forums, however, you can go for as long as 45 days between postings. This host has all the features of a pay for host, sometimes more, fantastico, cpanel, directadmin, php, mysql, frontpage extensions, 250MB storage, 10GB transfers, it's awesome. However, the currrently one employee of FriHost makes it so downtime happens more than I would like.

I have hosting from them for many months. While hosting is 'free' it does require many many hours of forum use to offset this free. If you have job it will cost you less to pay for hosting than to work yourself in forum many many hours to make virtual payments for free hosting. There was sql downtime twice so no 5 stars for that. I prefer free hosts to really be free -- cost me nothing in money AND nothing in time. This free host is slightly better with no adds and full features. forum moderators must be children, or hostile mentally challenged adults. If the forum stays so hostile I come back and change my rewview more negative. |

This has to be absolutely the best free host I ever used. Great customer service, fast servers, very supportive user base through their forum.
The only way to get and keep your free site is by participating in their forum. They don't ask a lot and the benefits far outweigh the few drawbacks (if they can be called drawbacks). After making my required posts to their forums, I found myself really liking it and the other users are very helpful and supportive.
I haven't experienced much downtime (one weekend since June because the admin was on holiday) and if it does go down, it isn't for long. I found their main site to be inaccessible a few times but that didn't affect their hosted sites! |
