I was hosted with Estarr for a while (can't remember exactly) and I had no problems with them whatsoever. The support was great, the hosting was awesome. I personally never experienced any downtime and everything was quick and nifty. The pricing is a great (especially for my budget) and I totally love this host. I really do recommend Estarr. |

Service was unreliable at best and always at the convenience of this so-called host that rents machines from a data-center and resells them. Condescending attitude and such a delay in response time, that normally the server was back up by that time - day(s) later. Never would compensate or prorate for constant and recurring downtime. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! |

I've been hosting my website with E-Starr for a over 2 years without a problem. The price, service is absolutely great, my only problem is the customer service response time. I contacted Amy several times about transferring a domain and her response time was 3 days and that was after a second email. I just contacted her 2 days ago about a problem and still no word. If it were a personal site I wouldn't mind, but this is my business site I am taking care of. It's rather frustrating and am considering transferring to another host. |

I've been hosted at E-Starr for a little over a year now, I've had a few problems.
At the beginning I checked availability (through them) of a domain name I was interested in (nenya.org) it showed it as available, so I paid for the domain and the hosting.. and then I played the waiting game. It took quite a bit of time before I received my receipt by email and after I did I was emailed by customer support saying that the domain I wanted was already registered, so I had to come up with another.
I played the waiting game AGAIN! while they took their time to set everything up. All in all it took almost two days for my domain to be set up. I was rather upset. This is not my first domain, I've owned quite a few over the past five years, on a variety of different hosts and this is the longest it has EVER taken for my domain to be set up.
After that things went rather smoothly until it came time for my domain to be renewed. Apparently because I was originally registering a .org domain (which is cheaper than .cc) the information with them on my account was for a .org, and as such they charged me the wrong ammount when they renewed my domain, because of this my domain didn't actually get renewed and was picked up by one of those 'search engine/directory' sites that eat up domains. Imagine my surprised when I went to view my control panel and another website came up! It took them some time but they did end up fixing it.
These two problems are really the only ones I've dealt with with them, though their customer support does take a while to get back to you (maybe I'm being a little harsh, I've come to expect customer support to get back to me within the hour) they usually fix problems within the day.
Their prices are a little steep compared to other hosts, I pay $9/mo. for 350 megs of space, but its almost worth it as I've never once experienced downtime (aside from the renewal problem).
They're a pretty decent host, aside from the price, the problems I've dealt with seem were both connected to the same problem and don't seem like something that would happen a lot.
If you're willing to spend that much for that little space, and are willing to wait a few hours to be contacted by customer support, it's definately worth it due to their reliability. |

I have been using E-Starr since December 2003, and I am very satisfied with their service. I have had no problems with them, and everytime a service has gone down, or there has been another problem, their customer service has been impeccable. The problem is almost always fixed within a couple hours of my initial inquiry. My sites' uptime is excellent, which is important as I run a busy message board.
I would absolutely reccomend them. My previous host was very cheap, but I was constantly having problems with uptime, access to my site, email, etc and I switched to E-Starr which is worth every penny I pay. I have never been dissapointed with them in the year+ I've been with them, and will contue to use their service. I've been told the prices aren't the best, but I think it is better to pay a little extra and have good service than pay less and be dissapointed like I was with my previous host. |

I absolutely love e-starr. Compared to other companies, I've been told that the prices and plans aren't that great, but what they offer is good enough for me and should be for any webmaster. The staff there are excellent and their customer support is so quick and always gets to the main point of your problem within one email. I've never had any problems with downtime whatsoever and I've been using it for almost a year and a half. They have excellent promotions which I took advantage of when I first purchased my plan. I bought a hosting plan and received a free domain. When I renewed my hosting, the domain was also renewed and remained free. I also was able to add on 100MB of webspace for a year by an addition $12 (if you need to add extra space per month, its available for $1/mo).
I strongly recommend this hosting company, it was the first one I've ever used for my first domain and has always been great. |
