Hi there,
I've been using dattatec's services for 2 years. My first contact was so positive, I arrived there from a very cheap provider and evertyhing was so great: great uptimes, great customer support (CS), great prices, etc.
I was so happy that one year later I upgraded to a more expensive account. Now, two and a half years later I decided to quit because:
- Half a year ago they decided to remove the catch-all for e-mail addresses. But they told noone!
- Within the last 3 weeks they closed my account (no mail, again) because I was overconsuming resources. The funny thing is that the code of the page hasn't changed for the last 18 months, the # of visits has only gone down and the web is serving half of the visits it was serving 18 months ago. And now I am overconsuming mysql resources?! WTF?! I asked what the limit was and didn't get any answer. After negotiating with them I managed to get my account back (they closed everything, mail included although it has nothing to do with the mysql server). One week later they closed my account again for the very same reason.
This second time the CS took 24 hours to give me an answer (not a solution).
More than enough. I am quiting.
Some other things I don't like:
- No mod_rewrite or different prices depending where you live. |

Dattatec.com is an Argentinian web hosting provider. Their prices are good, but after a few monts on their servers, their overselling is so big that the uptime falls down to a 30%!!!
I have 11 sites hosted with them in different individual shared hosting accounts, only 2 of them seems to be in the same server, but all his servers are so soverselled that all of my 11 sites have at least 1 time per day down!
PLEASE, do not contract any service from dattatec!
I´m switching now to lunarpages.com, wish me luck! jajaja. |
