As a total novice to the world of self hosting I was looking for a stress free setup and runnig experience, and that's exactly what I got.
The team at AQHost - from Billing to Techical Services are all amazing - professional and knowledgable. The hosting packages are very generous with their packages and very reasonable proced. You may be able to find cheaper hosting out there but with AQHost you know you are getting an amazing deal.

Don't pay too much attention to zmaster's message, which he's posted in lots of forums.
In eight years of buying hosting I've found Aqhost outstanding by comparison with the competition, which includes Affinity in the States and Fasthosts in the UK.
Lots of hosts offer similar services, but what distinguishes Aqhost is outstanding pro-active customer support. |

I was treated harshly by Simon (who claimed to be the owner of AQHost) when I accidentily caused a server hand due to a typo in one of my Movable Type templates.
Before having a chance to repair my broken template my client inadvertantly updted a MT entry and issued a rebuild - resulting in a repeat hang of our server.
Despite this being an honest mistake AQHost immediately suspended our account and booted us from their service, despite attempts to explain the simple mistake and sequence of events that resulted in the second server hang.
I was treated harshly and in a hostile manner by Simon (who again claimed to own AQHost) and found this quite insulting given earlier experiences that were of a professional manner.
Obviously I did make a mistake that resulted in a server hang (typo in a Movable Type template) but feel that the harsh treatment and suspension of service that resulted did was not justified.
Buyer beware. |

AQhost are definately a worth while hosting service, initially i was unsure of which one to use , after all there are so many out there these days.
I read a couple of good reviews and decided to take my chances with these.
I had literally hundreds of teething problems getting started - this was my first website, so there was a great deal I still didn't know, ie how to upload, to my site how change DNS settings, how to use mysql database and more - and everytime i had a problem I sent them a mail and got almost an instant response, in fact a guy phoned me uip on their phone bill to check everything was ok and to confirm a few things.
So in my opinion if your not sure who to use try AQhost especially if your a beginner, so many mails get ignored these days and it's good to know this doesn't happen here. |
